Organizational Overview

Vitamin Angels is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization, incorporated in the State of California (1998) and headquartered in Santa Barbara, California. Their vision is to be a leading partner in the global elimination of death and disease associated with micronutrient deficiency---especially vitamin A deficiency---among newborns, infants and children.

Vitamin Angels’ mission is to mobilize and deploy private sector resources to advance the availability, access and use of micronutrients---especially vitamin A---with newborns, infants and children in need. Vitamin Angels reduces child mortality worldwide by connecting essential nutrients with infants and children under five. Essential nutrients enable young immune systems to fight infectious diseases which in turn helps children attain good health and ultimately the opportunity to lead meaningful and productive lives.

Solution

Along with our creative partners, Breedlove Creative, Swipht re-developed the Vitamin Angels’ website in order to better engage their audience and supporters and bring them closer to the children they serve. Swipht is honored to be helping such a great organization!

Results

The website, developed in Drupal, now has several new, useful features including eCards and an “Our Programs” section. The eCards are purchased and sent by users and provide both a source of revenue and user interaction for Vitamin Angels. The “Our Programs” section is where users can find additional information about where Vitamin Angels works and who they are reaching. The "Our Programs" section features two important initiatives, Operation 20/20, focused on delivering vitamin A to children, and Thrive to Five, focused on delivering micronutrients to children under the age of five and nursing mothers. The new website also details where Vitamin Angels works, how many children they have reached with essential nutrition and who they are working with to accomplish their mission.

The Field Stories provide a glimpse into the lives of individuals Vitamin Angels has meet in their trips to distribute vitamins to women and children around the world. And the Personal Fundraising Pages help to raise support for the children they serve.
