Our Development Process

We believe that a proven process provides us with important parameters and tools necessary for finding our way. However, on its own it does not take into account the unique challenges inherent to every project. For this reason we believe that teams need to be flexible and nimble in order to creatively respond to the changing dynamics within a project. Ultimately, we recognize that relying on our proven process is sometimes less important than knowing when to diverge and forge a new path.

When we decided what process we were going to use at Swipht, we kept one main idea in mind: flexibility. From our experience, we knew that no matter how fancy the methodology, it wasn’t worth much if it couldn’t respond quickly to change. Our approach, Swipht’s Delivery Process Model (SDPM) is modeled off of the widely used Rational Unified Process (RUP). We’ve taken the best of RUP and pushed it a bit further to meet our needs. A working SDPM is the backbone of a well-executed project because it is efficient, scalable, repeatable and best of all, forgiving.

The Swipht Delivery Process Model (SDPM) involves four phases: Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition. These phases are iterative but feature a great deal of overlap. This overlap permits one phase to be succeeded by another without the original phase reaching completion. Ultimately, this flexibility aims at realistically meeting the needs of the client by accounting for unknown variables inherent to all real projects.
